SOCIAL MEDIA FOLLOW PROMO
TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. Promoter
The promoter of this promotion is South Newcastle Rugby League Club Ltd trading as
Souths Merewether (“Promoter”).
2. Promotion
Souths Merewether is conducting two separate social media promotions:
Instagram Promotion: The promotion will conclude when the Souths Merewether
Instagram account reaches 3,000 followers.
Facebook Promotion: The promotion will conclude when the Souths Merewether
Facebook page reaches 10,000 followers.
One winner will be selected from eligible entries on each platform.
3. Eligibility
The promotion is open to individuals aged 18 years and over who can attend Souths
Merewether in person to claim their prize.
Entrants must:
• Follow the relevant Souths Merewether Instagram account or Facebook page;
• Comment on the relevant promotional post; and
• Comply with these Terms & Conditions.
Entrants do not need to be a Souths Merewether member at the time of entry.
However, the winner must be a current Souths Merewether member to claim the
prize.
If the selected winner is not already a member, they may become a Souths Merewether
member before claiming the prize, subject to the applicable membership requirements.
Memberships are available from $3.
The winner must be able to attend Souths Merewether in person to claim their prize. The
prize will not be posted or transferred electronically.
4. Entry
To enter:
1. Follow the relevant Souths Merewether Instagram account or Facebook page;
and
2. Comment on the relevant promotional post.
Each eligible person is entitled to one entry per platform.
Tagging friends, sharing the post or other forms of engagement may be encouraged but
do not constitute additional entries.
Entries must be made by the individual entrant and must not be submitted on behalf of
another person.
5. Promotion milestones
The Instagram promotion will conclude once the Souths Merewether Instagram account
reaches 3,000 followers.
The Facebook promotion will conclude once the Souths Merewether Facebook page
reaches 10,000 followers.
The Promoter will determine when each milestone has been reached based on the
follower count displayed on the relevant social media platform.
The two promotions operate independently. Reaching the milestone on one platform
does not automatically conclude the promotion on the other platform.
6. Prize
There will be:
• One (1) $250 Souths Merewether in-house voucher awarded to an eligible
Instagram entrant; and
• One (1) $250 Souths Merewether in-house voucher awarded to an eligible
Facebook entrant.
The total prize pool across both promotions is $500.
The prize is not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
7. Winner selection
Once the relevant follower milestone has been reached, one eligible entrant will be
selected at random from the comments on the relevant promotional post.
The Instagram winner will be selected from eligible entries on the Instagram
promotional post.
The Facebook winner will be selected from eligible entries on the Facebook promotional
post.
The Promoter's decision is final, subject to applicable law.
8. Verification
Before the prize is awarded, the Promoter may verify that the selected entrant:
• Followed the relevant Souths Merewether account/page;
• Entered through the relevant promotional post;
• Meets the eligibility requirements; and
• Can satisfy the prize claim requirements.
If an entrant is found to be ineligible, their entry may be deemed invalid, and another
eligible entrant may be selected.
9. Winner notification
The winner will be contacted via direct message from the official Souths Merewether
social media account.
The winner may also be announced on the relevant Souths Merewether social media
account.
The winner must respond within 7 days of being contacted.
If the winner does not respond within this period, cannot satisfy the eligibility
requirements, or cannot claim the prize in accordance with these Terms & Conditions,
the Promoter may conduct a redraw.
10. Prize collection
The winner must attend Souths Merewether, Merewether NSW, in person to receive
their prize.
The winner may be required to provide reasonable identification and/or membership
details when claiming the prize.
If the winner needs to become a member before claiming the prize, they may do so
subject to Souths Merewether's applicable membership requirements.
11. Invalid entries
The Promoter reserves the right to reject or disqualify any entry that:
• Does not comply with these Terms & Conditions;
• Is fraudulent, misleading or submitted improperly;
• Is made using an automated system or third-party service;
• Contains offensive, unlawful or inappropriate content; or
• Is otherwise considered invalid by the Promoter.
12. Changes to the promotion
The Promoter reserves the right to amend, suspend or cancel the promotion where
reasonably necessary, subject to applicable laws and regulations.
Any material changes will be communicated through the relevant Souths Merewether
social media account/page.
13. Privacy
Personal information collected in connection with the promotion will be handled in
accordance with the Promoter's applicable privacy practices.
Personal information will only be used for purposes reasonably necessary to administer
the promotion, including contacting and verifying winners, unless otherwise permitted
or required by law.
14. Instagram and Facebook disclaimer
This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with
Instagram, Facebook or Meta.
By entering the promotion, entrants release Instagram, Facebook and Meta from any
responsibility or liability arising in connection with the promotion to the extent
permitted by law.
15. Acceptance of Terms
By entering this promotion, entrants acknowledge that they have read, understood and
agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
The Promoter reserves all rights available to it under applicable Australian law.
